How do you obtain a backward link without spending any money? The majority of webmasters are aware of the importance of obtaining backward links however find it difficult to gain them. So how can we get people to add a link pointing to our site for free?
Have you heard of the following statement, content is king? If you spend time surfing the net or if you ever look into the various types of web promotion ideas that are bounded about by the so called SEO experts; you no doubt will have heard of this. Unique content is worth its weight in gold and we can use this fact to help us to obtain these backward links for free.
Here is the idea; instead of doing what the majority of webmasters do, which is to e-mail the owners of websites asking for a link exchange, you e-mail or phone these site owners to ask them if they would like you to write them content for their websites. The webmasters you contact will have a site that is in the same industry as your own site and therefore it should be a piece of cake for you to write articles on the subject.
In exchange for this content all you asking for in return is a link back to your website, not a lot to ask for in reality.
Most of the people you contact are likely to either ignore your request or will decline your offer; this has to be expected and therefore should not dampen your enthusiasm. If you can regularly obtain six or seven links each and every week using this form of web promotion, your site will soon start rising up the search engine rankings.
The other way to obtain links for free is by writing articles and submitting them to the various article directories. This is proven to work however it can be some time before you see the real benefits.
