Google Page Rank Update April/May 2008
Google have just updated the visual page rank toolbar. I have been very pleased with latest update, two of my main websites now have a page rank of six and the other has a page rank of five. Google seems to be updating the visual toolbar at much more regular intervals nowadays which is a welcome change in the eyes of many webmasters. A question that many people are currently is whether the page rank of a website has any real value or importance. I will be attempting to answer this question in this article.
I am the type of person who likes to read the many SEO forums that are online, basically as a way of keeping up to date with the latest web marketing and SEO news. I have recently seen a number of threads and comments from people who state that the page rank of a website has no importance, I would have to disagree.
By far the most important thing is the ranking of the website for its main keywords; this goes without saying. Having a site however which has a high page rank score just adds slightly more trust for people who may be thinking of purchasing a product from your website. Some buyers think that if Google likes the site then it must be good.
For me personally, I work very hard to promote my main websites and try to follow the Google guidelines. To see that my site is rewarded with a page rank of six just shows to me that I am doing the right things and that all of my hard work has been worth it.
In my experience it is the webmasters who do not follow the rules, who possibly have some form of penalty from Google, who think that the page rank of a site does not really matter.
I hope this latest page rank update was as good for you as it was for me.
