Microsoft Releases adCenter Desktop Beta

Today’s the first day of SMX Advanced 2008 in Seattle, and the President of Microsoft’s Platform & Services Division, Kevin Johnson, announced the release of adCenter Desktop Beta only moments ago. Traditionally, the only means for managing adCenter campaigns was through a web browser, which could be quite tedious and inefficient for large or complex campaigns.Microsoft’s adCenter Desktop beta enables advertisers to fully manage their pay per click campaigns, from creating ad campaigns to optimizing them. This desktop application is a clear competitor to Google’s AdWords Editor, which was released back on January 24th, 2006. With being over two years behind, adCenter Desktop needs to have an edge.

And it does, according to Natala Menezes, Product Manager for Microsoft adCenter.

  • Our vision is a desktop client version of adCenter, fully functional, not just an editor.

Microsoft adCenter Desktop is packed with all the features found in Google’s AdWords Editor, but goes over the top by including tools to help advertisers research and select additional keywords for their campaigns.

Advertisers with an active account and are in compliance with adCenter terms and conditions are eligible to join the adCenter Desktop beta test through the online form.
