Top Five methods for generating targeted site traffic
Although we heavily rely on search engines for most of our traffic, it is true you can generate more site traffic and revenue with other methods. Today, I’m gonna talk about non-search engine methods that include ad networks, social networking, buying text link ads & web directories.As I mentioned before, the vast majority of traffic comes from search engines such as Google. But, stats on my blog tell a different story. Just around 30 % of my traffic comes from Google and all other from the sources I will mention further on.

- today we know about hundreads of web directories, but i doubt these will bring you a fair amount traffic. Sure, there are a few free ones that can bring some visitors but i reckon this is not enough. On the contrary, I present a list of the best web directories on the net.
4. Social media
- you’ve all heard about Facebook, MySpace, Digg and Reddit. Try them and expect and overload of traffic.
5. Ad networks
- this is a good way to buy traffic on more popular site through services like Adbrite or Industry Brains.
